The other day, I came across a project on the Oh Happy Day! blog that I think would be fantastic for long-distance relationships. It ties in with the idea that snail mail is actually a great way to keep in touch with your long-distance partner—not only is it fun and different to get a surprise in the mail, but it also gives you a tangible, rather than virtual, reminder of your sweetie.
The Oh Happy Day/Yahoo! Mail project is so neat and simple, I wish I’d thought of it myself back when my relationship was long-distance. The idea is that when someone sends you an e-mail with a few questions (such as, “How was that concert you went to?” or “How was the birthday party?”), you write out a sentence answering the question, paste it onto a relevant print photograph, and send it as a postcard.
